Baby Gender Update

This post is for my best friend Natalia Gardner because she refuses to have facebook! Lol...JOKING! I needed to do this post anyways.

Well, we went on the 19th and had another set of ultrasounds done. Baby looks good and is a week ahead of schedule according to growth. Heart rate is nice and strong. Baby is still going to surprise us with its gender though because they were unable to see this time too. Last time it was because baby was not cooperating with us and this time it is because baby was just too big and not in the showing position. So, we still are going to have to wait until this little one comes out to know. It was actually kind of disappointing because they couldn't even get a good profile shot of the baby because of the way baby was lying. We did, however, get a GREAT shot of the left foot.

My mom and I were analyzing the foot shot yesterday and we were laughing because the foot looks exactly like Ralph's foot and the baby isn't even out yet to actually see! I guess it will be hard to find shoes for this baby because Ralph's feet are WIDE. Lol. Anyways, I'll try to post a picture of the foot later!

Baby Update

Hey everyone! Today we went to the midwife. I was really unsure about using a midwife but I think I will really like having one. She was very attentive and helpful and answered all my questions. I was able to actually spend time with someone getting all of my questions asked and I didn't feel rushed. It was wonderful! She asked us the gender question and we told her we didn't know and she was more than willing to order another ultra sound for us. We had to get another one anyways because they couldn't get a good picture of the heart the first time so they want to get another picture of it. The baby is doing well and Ralph got to hear the heartbeat for the first time.

I get the wonderful pleasure of going and doing another glucose test. I don't think they are that bad but that is just me. I sure hope I pass because I have NO idea what I would eat if I didn't.

Other good news is that on Thursday we get to go for the second ultrasound! Hopefully this time we will get to find out the gender of the baby but I'm not going to get my hopes up. I'll update again on Thursday!

Happy Birthday!

This post is mostly for Ralph but you are all welcome to read it!

Happy birthday to my one true love! I know this is a day early but I'm terrible at doing things on time. It either has to be early or late.
You are an inspiration to my life. Thank you for always being there and taking care of me. Things haven't exactly been a fairytale for us since the beginning but you always make me have a better outlook on things.
You always seem to know what is important in life. You have a quiet way of making your ideas understood. I may be the loud one in this marriage but you are the rock and the one that holds us together.
You are one handsome man. I love to just look at you! You make my heart melt in a way that no one ever could. You make me laugh and smile like no other.
Thanks for choosing me to spend the rest of forever with. I will try each and everyday to be worthy of your love. I hope you have a wonderful year and that it brings so much more joy and blessings into your life.

Update

So I thought I would update you on the progress on life. I got approved for insurance! That is good. I have an appointment for baby and me on Feb. 16th at Willamette Valley Midwives in Salem. I decided to try a midwife and see how I like it. This way I get the experience of a doctor and a midwife. I'm still really unsure about the midwife thing but I know that if I have any doubts at all I can go and find a hospital. The good thing is that they are contracted as part of Salem Hospital so they will be readily available when baby decides to make an appearance. Their facilities are actually adjacent to the hospital so they will be really near.

As for baby, I have nicknamed him/her party animal. My baby has decided that 10:30pm is the time to wake up and kick and play and have all sorts of fun. That usually lasts until 12 or 1 and then I am able to sleep for a few hours before baby wakes up again. I am already lacking in sleep and I really am craving a good nights sleep. :( Maybe someday I'll get one. The joys of parenting are already beginning...lol.

As for the job situation I am at a loss as to what I will do. I don't have any prospects of a job and it is really too close to having the baby to actually start one. I have decided to find a temporary job somewhere that ends around the middle of April and then I'll find a permanent one after I have baby. We'll see how that goes.

That about sums up our life. As for Ralph he is just being a bum. He better enjoy it while it lasts because this is the last time he'll have that chance for the rest of his life...lol. Anyways, thanks for reading! I hope you are doing alright!
