Blog post #2 for today

So as promised, this is a two blog post day. I said that I would take a little bit more about the birth center so he we go. The birth center is amazing. They have antepartum rooms and they have the actual birth rooms that have all the medical equipment that will be needed in the room. The birthing rooms also have jacuzzi tubs in the bathrooms so you can soak in there if you desire. There is a day bed for the daddy/support person and a rocking chair. Upstairs there are the mother and baby rooms for after delivery. They have a tv/dvd combo, a private bathroom, a rocking chair, a cradle for baby, and a daybed for dad. On every level they have the family pantry which is for the father/support people to go so they can get ice, water, coffee(if you drink it), and condiments that you might need such as jelly, butter, mayo, mustard, etc. There is more stuff in there but I'm not sure what exactly because we never explored them. Overall I think that they truly do try to make the experience as nice as possible. It almost makes me excited to give birth.

Today I went to the midwife again. She just told me the results of my ultrasound. Baby is indeed 8lbs. I have low amniotic fluid too but it is not low enough to worry about. Baby has a good heartbeat. I haven't progressed at all. They gave me some stuff to try to get labor going but I don't know if they will work. They said that if I haven't progressed any then next week they are going to try stripping the membranes to see if that will get baby coming. Let's hope that I don't have to go next week. I'd rather have baby now...

You are so close. Your hospital sounds like it is all ready for you. One piece of advice, get as much sleep as you can when you are there, meaning have them if you would like, take the baby to the nursery during the night. At first I thought I was terrible mom for sending my baby away during the night but I am telling you, that will be the last night for a while where you can sleep through the night. They bring the baby to you in the middle of the night to have her be fed, but it is definitely worth it. At least it was for me.
