I went to the midwife yesterday and it was like 5 steps backwards. I am now just 1 cm dilated and less effaced according to the midwife I saw (there is an office of 5-7 of them and when you go into labor you get whoever is on duty at the time). I also got the results of my strep B test and it came back positive so that means I will be hooked to an IV with antibiotics as soon as my water breaks (whether I'm in active labor or not). I am kind of frustrated about that because I was hoping to have this baby and not have to get an IV. I am going to try to be as natural as possible so we will see how that will work out.
On a good note, we have another ultrasound scheduled for Monday so we can see how big baby is! I love seeing baby even if it is just on a screen. Also, we are going on our birth center tour on Monday so that is exciting! After Saturday I am pretty sure we are a green to go into labor because by then my mom and sister have an open schedule so they will be able to both be there for the birth. So here's hoping!

I tested positive with strep B with both Anna and Claire. With both deliveries the IV was the worst part, especially with Claire. They had to poke me like four times....KILLER! With the whole going natural...more power to you. Just as I was about to push with Claire the epidural was wearing off and it was to late to be even more numbed. I know I didn't feel all of the pain, but I definitely got my fair share of what SERIOUS contractions felt like. But you are stronger than me. I don't handle pain very well I have come to realize that.
Hahaha...I know you don't handle pain well. I remember very well the time you stubbed your toe and it was bleeding and you were crying and screaming. I don't do well with surprise pain but with pain that I am expecting I can usually be prepared for it. I know that I probably won't make it all the way naturally BUT I'm going to give it a go.
Wow, your brave for even thinking about trying to go naturally!!! I'm all about the epidural...the contractions I had with Timothy were awful!! I thought I was dying. Of corse, pitocin and cervidill make contractions more intense so I hear, and I was LOADED with those (being 20 weeks doesn't make for a quick dilation). I don't mind IV's as long as they are in my favorite place (my forearm...not my elbow-pit or hand).
